What is VPL™ ?
Variable Pulsed Light is a safe and effective technology for treatment of unwanted hair and skin imperfections. Clinically proven to effectively treat unwanted hair, acne, rosacea, thread veins, fine lines/wrinkles, and the visible signs of sun damage, VPL™ treatments leave your skin looking smooth, silky and radiant. The variable pulses of light emitted from the VPL™ effectively treat and remove unwanted hair and skin imperfections safely and easily, with none of the discomfort of invasive and/or surgical treatments. Variable pulsed light ensures controlled absorption of light by the target chromophore whilst minimising heating of the surrounding tissue. Each light pulse consists of a sequence of rapid micro-pulses. The number, duration and frequency of micro pulses can be adapted on the ‘pulse design screen’, to suit each patient, ensuring optimum treatment results are achieved every time, even on darker skin tones.
Dual filtering to reduce discomfort
All UltraPlus handpieces employ dual filtering technology to remove both the shorter, more harmful wavelengths, and also the longer wavelengths which are absorbed in water and cause non-specific heating of tissue. This reduces pain and minimises side effects, enabling you to deliver more energy safely to tissue, and so provide comfortable and more effective treatment.

The Specialist handpiece, specifically designed for treatment of pigmentation and vascular lesions including telangiectatic matting, PWS, Refractory Rosacea, and Strawberry haemangioma. With available fluence up to 108J/cm2, even Seborrhoeic Keratoses have been successfully treated with the Specialist handpiece.
Unique acne treatment handpiece
Based on clinical evidence on the efficacy of blue and red light for the treatment of acne, Energist has introduced a dedicated handpiece delivering both 415nm and 630-950nm together. This maximises the photodynamic mechanism for optimum anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects.
